StemTech automates stem cell processing
KUALA LUMPUR: StemTech International Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of TMC Life Sciences Bhd, has recently invested in the FACSCalibur Cytometer instrument from the US that is capable of CD34 cell analysis and cell viability test to meet the productivity requirements of its clinical laboratory.
In a statement yesterday, the company said the handing over and commissioning of the equipment took place at its Kota Damansara laboratory, witnessed by its executive director Wenddi-Anne Chong.
StemTech’s primary activity is cord blood and adult stem cell harvesting, processing and cryo-preservation.
Chong said the company was the first in the region to implement an automated processing technology system, named AXP AutoXpress that gives higher stem cell yield, translating into a higher successful survival rate in transplantation.
